Convert an image to an app icon

The one thing worth getting right on the way in is the source. Use a square image at least 1024 x 1024, since that is the largest size generated, and leave the corners square: both stores mask the icon themselves, so a pre-rounded source gets masked twice.
iOS app icon generator

What image should I upload?
A square image at least 1024x1024px works best, since that's the largest size this tool generates (Apple's App Store icon). Anything smaller will look soft once scaled up to the larger sizes.
Does this generate Android adaptive icons?
This tool generates the legacy per-density icon set (mdpi through xxxhdpi, plus the Play Store listing icon), which is what most build tooling still expects and what Android falls back to on older devices. It doesn't currently composite a separate adaptive foreground/background layer.
Can I convert a PNG into an iOS app icon?
Yes, that is the main way people use this. Drop in a PNG, JPG or WebP and it is converted to the 1024x1024 App Store icon plus every size iOS renders underneath, named the way an Xcode asset catalog expects. The same upload produces the Android set, so one image covers both stores.
How do I turn an existing image or logo into an app icon?
